Community Garden with the kiddos

Today there was a threat of rain. It was hot and humid but we needed to get the plants into our small plot in the community garden so we took a chance and walked down with the wagon in tow. We had a great time! We planted tomatoes (which interests my science girl a lot because they are grafted and heirloom varieties), a yellow pepper, yellow squash and cucumbers. Then the fun really began as we made a fairy tent complete with bunting and a pathway.

This afternoon we decided we "needed" to make another fairy tent but it turned into a tepee! Maddie and I put it in the butterfly garden next to the driveway.

Notice that this time the fairies were given pre-made sleeping bags! Many thanks to Imagine Childhood for the idea! Our tents and tepees are not quite as good as theirs but I don't think the fairies will mind.
