The Business Letter

We use (actually I should say used) First Language Lessons from Peace Hill Press. Maddie started with Level 1 and we worked right through Level 4. The primary purpose of these books is to teach grammar and give a good foundation for writing later on. Some of the lessons focus on using the dictionary and some focus on letter writing. We wrote lots of friendly letters but this year one lesson was about writing a business letter. The assignment was to write to Peace Hill Press and complain about missing pages in the book. If you would send them the letter they would write back....so they said. I was hoping they would actually follow through but had about given up hope when I opened the mailbox today. Bingo! Maddie was thrilled.

 

I've always been impressed with their books and curriculum. We use almost everything they publish. I have to say that their follow through on the lesson has put them over the top.
