I'm not sure they are all there but with everyone's reading books and the field guides we had 12 books for 3 people! Naturally I had Brian's socks to work on but it was so meltingly hot that I just didn't do much. The book on the bottom is called A History of Food in 100 Recipes. I found it at the library for Brian who read quite a bit in the 2 weeks we were allotted to have the book. It went from ancient times right up to Jamie Oliver. Pretty interesting! The DEC book was given to Maddie at the campsite. It has activities to complete then she took it back to the ranger who checked it and gave her a patch for her nature bag. Its the second year we've done this program and Maddie loves it.
This week I'm reading (well, still reading!) Gone with the Wind. My copy is certainly beat up as I've read it many times but haven't read it since Maddie was born! I thought it was past time to read it again. I am also reading The Perfectly Imperfect Home which fits us to a "T". However I won't be able to put much of the decorating ideas into practice for quite some time to come. Right now the living room is the living room, the play room, the day care room, the napping room...... I am enjoying reading it and dreaming though! I finally got to the heel on Brian's sock. Making a man's sock is a large investment of time and makes me appreciate women from times before Target and ready made socks even more than I did already!
This is a week of waiting. Maddie is at camp and pretty much we've hit the point of just waiting for Saturday to come so we can go get her. I know she is having a ton of fun but boy, she is greatly missed at our house! I'll have to keep knitting and reading to make it through.
What are you up to this week?
