I used dishcloth cotton. I knit my dishcloths so always have some on hand. I used these 2 patterns basketweave washcloth and ruffle washcloth. I also used a pattern from the washcloth quartet and adapted it a bit because it didn't seem big enough to me. Next up is to make Maddie an "adventure roll" that we saw on Imagine Childhood. For quite a while now Maddie has had a "nature bag" with all the things she needs for the woods! Her binoculars, mini scope, whistle, specimen boxes and on and on the list goes! She wanted to take it to camp but I felt that there is just too much in there for this particular adventure. I think the adventure roll will be the solution. We can put a few things in the roll and it can be in her backpack for when she needs it!
I've been reading Mitten Strings for God which I think I first saw on the yarn along somewhere. Thank you for the recommendation! I've been enjoying it quite a bit. Its about creating a place of quiet and peace for your children and giving them your time and attention rather than material things. I think we do that pretty well here but its nice to have the reinforcement. When you feel like you are marching to the beat of a different drummer its good to know you aren't totally alone!
What have you been up to? Any summer adventures for you this summer?
what nice dish cloths!!! will have to look at the patterns...
ReplyDeleteI love making dishcloths! Fun easy knits.
ReplyDeleteI love dish cloths. Instant knitting/crochet gratification! I remember the first time my daughter went away to camp. It was harder on the adults! Hope she has a great time!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good read. Dishcloths are such nice things to knit and use. Which reminds me...I've got one started that I should really get to work on and finish! Gonna have to find it. :) Happy knitting!
