Easter

We had a fun weekend! The natural dyed eggs came out great! We used blueberries which came out a deep dark blue almost denim, red cabbage which came out a bright blue and tea which came out a tan color. In the red cabbage dye we added some oil which created a marble effect. We still did some of the PAAS colors but Maddie said she liked the natural dyes better. I think we will do more colors next year!

Saturday night we spent some time with Mamaw Louise and Poppa Jim to celebrate both Mamaw Louise's birthday and Easter. We had a lot of fun especially playing Apples to Apples Jr, one of Maddie's favorite games.

Sunday morning we were up bright and early. Maddie tore right into the new Police car lego set the Easter Bunny left. Brian helped her out.

Then headed off to church to greet people coming for the 10:00 service. Maddie was so happy to have Samantha back. They had matching dresses for the day.

After I took her picture Maddie wanted to take one of Brian and me.

A funny note, on Friday Maddie and I went to Indian Meadows playground for a while in the afternoon. We arrived right when the kids at spring break camp at the YMCA were let loose on the playground. It was mayhem similar to recess time at the elementary school. As we were leaving I said "Well, Maddie, welcome to recess. Do you miss doing that every day?". Her answer? Not at all Momma.

We are pushing along to finish up second grade in the next month or so. I can't quite believe that we have been doing this for 4 years now! Its been amazing fun, hard work, frustrating at times and so rewarding!
