Yesterday we took a day care field trip to see The Pigeon Party. This was a short play based on the Pigeon series of books by Mo Willems. We had a lot of fun. The kids know most of his books by heart. Maddie loves to read them to the other kids, particularly the baby who will give at least the appearance of listening to her. The best part of the pigeon books, as far as the kids are concerned, is telling the pigeon "NO!!". I'm sorry to say that I forgot my camera...
When we got home we started a lapbook about the Olympics. It is a 3 folder lapbook and looks like a lot of fun. It has one folder about the Ancient Greeks, one about the 2010 Winter Games and the last is dedicated to keeping track of the gold medal winners in each sport. The timing is perfect since we are just starting our reading about Greece. The first item we did was a map showing the torch relay through Canada. We will do a video once we are done so you can see!!
