Advent!

We are working along on our Truth in the Tinsel ornaments and enjoying them just as much and perhaps even more than last year. I love that Maddie is remembering the ornaments and what they stand for most of the time. If she doesn't remember right away it all seems to come back as we read the verses and start the project. We did a lot of her favorites this week--Zechariah and his popped bubble wrap mouth, Elizabeth and Mary pregnant and reading about John jumping for joy! and a new favorite, Mary's Song. Its funny what a difference a year makes. This year she has questions about practical things like "Are you sure it says he jumped for joy Momma? I wouldn't think there would be room for a baby to jump for joy before they are born.". Ah, hmmm....

All week we have been watching the kids on Simple Bites make a gingerbread house from scratch. It looked like so much fun we decided to give it a try. We mixed the dough tonight and I must admit that it is very crumbly. I am hoping the time in the fridge overnight will help it along. We will see. We did at least have fun mixing the dough!

And finally, it has to be one of the most clever sunday school projects ever, Maddie made a Charlie Brown Christmas tree in Sunday school today complete with Linus blanket and the verse read on the show. It has a place of honor on the table along with the advent wreath!
