Yarn Along

I had fun participating in the yarn along last week so thought I would do it again! I am still working on the sweater for Maddie. I finished the back and am working on the front now. Its too big a project to lug around though. The rows are long when you are done waiting but are not done with the row! So I decided to use some yarn leftover from a baby sweater I knit to make a pair of fingerless mitts for Maddie. I think she can use them in the spring for hikes and walks. Her fingers will still be free to explore rocks, sticks and pinecones as well as take pictures! Maddie and I are reading The Hobbit together which seems appropriate with fingerless mitts! I hope Maddie has lots of adventures with her mitts when they are done but that she doesn't encounter any dragons!

I found the pattern via ravelry. Its called Pure Maine and has been very easy to follow. The yarn is from KnitPicks and is called Felici sport. The color is called "playground" but it isn't available any longer! It is nice yarn though and fun to watch the stripes form.

  3. I read The Hobbit to my kids too. It was the first time for the three of us and we absolutely loved it!

That yarn is adorable! What fun colors for kids - they named it appropriately.

  4. The Hobbit is a great yarn. some parts of it keep me in stitches. In the same the thread the lord of the rings is a great read as well. Some people have tried to pull the wool over my eyes and tell me these books lacked a certain fiber. But I know that Tolkein is a master weaver.
