4H and Owl Pellets!

On Saturday we had an afternoon of fun with our 4H group. We made sharpie dyed t-shirts to wear at the snack shop at the Altamont Fair. So many of them were very concentrated on this task!

We also made jumping jack kids for our club display and worked on a poster for that as well. Then we made mentos geysers. Fortunately this time I did not get chased by any of them! Everyone pulled the "trigger" on their own so I didn't really have to be close. Lots of fun!

On Sunday we celebrated Brian's 45th birthday with our parents and had so much fun! I was very pleased with the peanut butter cheesecake that I made. It was so outrageous but sooooo good!

Today we waited and waited for the rain to stop and finally it did just in time for us to make it to the library. One of Maddie's favorite presenters was there, George Steele, a scientist/naturalist. He was there to talk about owls and help the kids dissect owl pellets. Maddie was so thrilled. She and her partner found 3 mice skeletons in their pellet. She was able to bring one home along with some of fur and feathers to inspect under her microscope. Its going to be a great addition to her owl box at the fair!
