Busy July!

We had a very busy July and I just realized that I didn't post any of it! So here is July in a nutshell.
Independence Day was spent at home enjoying all the good things at the start of summer. Brian purchased a new three lane slip n slide. Maddie loves it! She has no fear of going down it. Her only problem was sore stomach muscles the next day!

We watched the Scotia Jumpin' Jacks fireworks at church but we also let Maddie stay up late to watch the National Fireworks on PBS. This meant getting out the sleeping bag and having popcorn of course!

Notice the American Girls have their sleeping bags too!

We spent one night at Cobble Camp when we went north to attend Aunt Elsie's funeral. While the occasion was a sad one we did have quite a bit of fun Sunday morning while at camp. Maddie can't wait to go back...we just need to find the time!

Then we attended American Girl night at SPAC. The pre-performance activities were a lot of fun. We made a lei for the dolls, entered a drawing for a doll (didn't win darn it!) and also made a new pony tail holder for Maddie.

Then we ate dinner on our new picnic blanket!

Then we watched the first half of the performance. We loved the first small dance which was about the circus and included many dancers from local dance schools.

At the end of the month Maddie took a sewing class at Joann's and made Whiskers the Cat. I was so proud of her! I thought we would get there and she would hand the materials over to me and ask me to do it all but she most certainly did not. In fact she even sent me out to look around the store for a while!

We also celebrated Poppa Bill's birthday, Principal Dad Brian's birthday and went to a bridal shower for our cousin Karen at the end of the month.

Now we are getting ready for school to start in the next week and for the Altamont Fair!
