Models of the Earth and Naptime Fun

The first saturday of October I had to attend an all day conference for day care. Brian and Maddie had a fun day full of dance class, schoolwork and an Octoberfest! They had a lot of fun and did a great job making a model of the Earth. Course, in the end, it turned into Captain Underpant's planet but the names of the layers are still the same. Here is their video:

Today was not a school day for us but we still had day care. It was such a cold rainy day that Maddie couldn't go out to play in the yard at naptime. So we decided to make a Halloween project we saw on another blog and really liked. A ghost chain made from newspaper. Rather like a paper doll chain but with ghost shapes. Then we painted them with watercolor. Tomorrow we will add some white tempera paint eyes and hang them up over our doorway between the dining and living rooms. I'm betting that after that we have to make several more since day care kids will want to have fun too! It was a lot of fun!!!

Now I must go make plans for the coming week...more reading, spelling, money in math and the Franks in History once we finish up with Australia and the Maori. Fun!!
