Today Maddie and I attended a Pillowcase Party locally for
ConKerr Cancer. This was a special event meant to coincide with National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
In August we made a pillowcase for one of our day care buddies fighting cancer so it was good to make some more. Maddie did really well for her third round on the sewing machine and second pillowcase. She had lots of help all around not just from me but from everyone at the event as well. In fact when she was done she got a round of applause. We both made one pillowcase and then were ready to head for home. Maddie's patience had given out and her stomach was calling for lunch. We did bring home a kit to make another pillowcase (spiderman!!!) and will turn that in later when Linda visits us at 4H. Maddie and I both brought our cameras but Maddie took more pictures while I was busy sewing! An ironic part of the party for us was that it was held at a local firehouse. They have a community room but made a mistake and overbooked. They asked if we could work upstairs in the truck bay since the other party was a birthday party including a bounce house. Collin's dad is a fireman so for Maddie and I it seemed perfectly right to be making pillowcases in honor of Collin next to the fire truck. It did not stop us from worrying that the trucks made need to take off at any moment though!

Its......
Phineas & Ferb!
I wasn't kidding. Right next to the trucks!
And the equipment.
It was a room with a view though!
Momma made M&Ms
Everyone together!
