The Principal came home....

Principal Dad arrived home from work tonight to dinner barely started, a frazzled teacher mom and Maddie waiting on Science and History. We had a full house today so things just didn't get done like they normally do!  Being a great principal and Dad Brian hopped right in to do Maddie's science experiment with her while I started dinner. The physics theme of the week is spin. The experiment was to make a rink out of posterboard and a bunch of tops out of various household "junk". It worked really well and they had a lot of fun.

Then we swapped places and I got the "fun" job of reading about Chernobyl and the end of the Cold War. The topics were why we didn't read during day care. That is not for 4 year old ears! I should add that we did finally get dinner after the schoolwork. We ate in company with the bug jar containing a stink bug, a lady bug, a milkweed bug and (apparently!) a family of roly polies. I did say it was a busy day, right? We are very excited because summer break is in sight. We have 2 more history chapters and just a couple weeks for everything else.

I leave with one last picture of Maddie making knitting needles last week at our special 4H meeting. She had so much fun with 2 of her best buds and just hanging out a bit.
