So far we did the candle ornament for light.
The crown for kingdom.
Zechariah was so much fun. We got to pop the bubble to remind us he couldn't speak until John the Baptist was born. I also had a funny moment while trying to help Maddie remember who exactly John the Baptist was. I said "He was the guy who helped people prepare for Jesus." to which I got a blank look. Hmmm....then I said "Remember Pastor Jan telling about him? How he was not really well kept up, big long bushy beard, ate honey..." At that her eyes lit up! "Oh yes Momma I remember him now." Apparently that description left a bigger impression!
Then Maddie and Brian made Gabriel together while I was at a day care training! Didn't they do a great job?
Last night was Mary....
Tonight we did some watercolor pictures of Mary and Elizabeth. We will put them together in the morning once they are dry.
The little tree is filling up beautifully!
But the fun part is watching Maddie learn the story. Crafting is something we do every day either for homeschool or with our day care gang. Being able to relate the Christmas story to the ornaments makes it a meaningful time. We are really looking forward to the rest of the ornaments and story!
