Maddie coaxing the butterfly to her finger.
Success!
Aren't they pretty?
Helping out a little buddy.
Maddie has been a bit lost over the last week or two since we don't have our normal school schedule. Finally this week she started to get the idea that she now has time for things that normally just don't make it into our school schedule. She decided to try to make a quilt like Mamaw Mary. This quilt has no pattern at all but looks really cool and is sized for her American Girl dolls.
On Wednesday then Thursday Maddie had rehearsal for the big dance recital on Saturday. We are so very proud of her. She did a GREAT job and gains confidence every year. We started our day getting Maddie's hair put up. I take her to our hair stylist because she, unlike me, is not afraid of hairspray! Maddie's hair is still in the braids but we took the bun out for sleep!
Her first dance was "The Codfish Ball" with the yellow outfit.
These were taken outside of Proctors. She was just slightly excited-can you tell?
Then she danced to "I want you back" by the Jackson 5. This was her favorite dance but we really did not like the costume. It rode up, rode down and just generally created trouble. We purchased a flesh colored leotard to go under it then when things rode up and rode down it was no big deal!
Mamaw Mary and Poppa Bill joined us for dinner after the recital. The recital is 3 hours long so we didn't get home until 7...Maddie was HUNGRY! She had requested her usual menu....hot dogs, Kraft Mac n Cheese, salad and chocolate cupcakes for dessert. Maddie helped me make the cupcakes and did the decorating herself. There were a lot of sprinkles on those cupcakes!
We will have the videos of the dances up soon! Poor Bri had a hard time getting them this year....some tall people were right in front of us. Next year we are trying the balcony.
