Workbox Success and 4-H Achievement Books

We have finished our first week of using the workbox system and everything went very smoothly! There was a snow day in the middle of the week when we did not have any day care kids around. That day Maddie started working on schoolwork at about 9:30 and finished at 11:45. That says it all! She worked cheerfully and completed everything in record time so she could have time outside in the afternoon. Yay!! So far, so good.

On Saturday morning we went to the 4-H Office for Achievement book training. We covered a regular 3 ring binder with fabric and learned how to do some scrapbook pages for the inside to keep a record of everything Maddie has done in 4-H. The teenagers ran the training as is usual with 4-H and did a great job. We had a lot of fun learning how to cover the binder and getting ideas for the inside pages. The teenagers were on their 4th or 5th binder with 3 inch rings! We had a lot to look at. On Friday night we went to choose fabric for her binder. I think 2 of Maddie's guardian angels helped picked the fabric of pink and green teacups. Her great-grandma Milly and great-great Grandma Eve would've loved it. Maddie worked hard and did a good job. Now she is looking forward to completing pages from last year to put in her binder!!!

Notice the fabric scrap has already become a ribbon in her hair! We also brought along our caddy so Maddie would have her lefty scissors. We were glad we brought the whole thing though because we used pencils, rulers and markers from it too!
