We were hosts for Thanksgiving this year. Maddie was very creative with her centerpiece and planned it out on her own. Brian did a fantastic job with dinner! I just stayed behind the scenes and helped where needed. Maddie and I made a lapbook to go along with the book Cranberry Thanksgiving. AS part of this we made cranberry bread for thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious and we had a good time making it. We also had to experiment to find out if cranberries really do float! Today Maddie's sunday school class lighted the first advent candle at church and started a special program for advent. In the afternoon we went to see The Nutcracker at Proctor's in Schenectady. We had fun trying to spy the kids we knew that were in the production. Maddie sat literally on the edge of her seat and enjoyed every minute of the performance. After dinner we managed to pull out the small Christmas trees that we use as "the ancestor tree" and as a Jesse tree. This year we are using the third tree to hang small books from an advent calendar featuring A Christmas Carol. So we had a busy and fun weekend! Tomorrow its back to work for all!!
