Tonight we finally made our model of the Nile River. We were supposed to do this last week while on vacation but since it was vacation things didn't get done. The idea was to make a model using dirt and grass seed to see how the Nile floods each year making it easier for the crops to grow. Unfortunately our Nile seems to be a bit too narrow so flooding does not occur as it should. We sprayed the rest of the dirt and seed with water and hopefully something will grow! More to come on that later!
We have been doing a lot of reading about Ancient Egypt. Very Ancient Egypt before there was a pharoah. We were in Long Lake over the weekend and I was happy to hear Maddie make an entire story in the sand about the Egyptians and their 2 kings, one with a white crown and one with a pink crown(technically this should be a red crown but it was her own story after all!). The Pink crown king won, naturally, made himself a new crown out of the pink and white crowns and called himself the ruler of all Egypt. It was great to hear her acting out the story we had read so many times!! Enjoy the pictures!!
