Field Trip with Mamaw Louise and the parade!

On Thursday Mamaw Louise picked Maddie up for a field trip to CMOST for a homeschool science lab about the night sky. As you can see from the pictures they had a great time and learned a lot! Maddie came home with a star finder which we have tried to use without much success. There is too much light here in the city...we have to go out of town to give it a whirl.

A Little more play time!

MADDIE LEARNING HOW TO SEE THRU A RETRACTABLE TELESCOPE.....LEARNING HOW TO FOCUS THIS DANG THING THIS WAS PRETTY FUNNY TO WATCH ALL THE KIDS DO...

THIS WAS OUR FAVORITE...LOOKING AT THE NIGHT SKY...VERY COOL! MORE KIDS CAME...BUT THEY WERE ALL LATE WE HAD ABOUT 13 OR 14 KIDS THIS WAS THE TEACHER WHAT A GREAT JOB SHE DID WITH ALL THE QUESTIONS BEING THROWN AT HER...

HERE IS MADDIE MAKING HER NIGHT SKY MAP

I asked Maddie if she was dancing in this photo....anyone who knows Maddie knows this is a legitimate question. She looked at me, rolled her eyes (I didn't think that would happen until she was 12 or 13) and said "No Momma! I was looking at the stuff on the shelves and wondering why everyone treated them so badly because they were all beat up." Ok...guess she told me. :0) So, Mamaw, was that it or is she dancing because it looks suspiciously like dancing to me.

Last night we went to the Schenectady Holiday Parade and had a great time! We arrived at 3:30 and were one of the first banner carriers to arrive so were given the lead off banner announcing the parade. We had a ton of fun. Maddie was a wonderful ambassador waving to all and yelling out to people that the parade was coming or that she liked hats, mittens and whatever souviner they might be holding. We were on the local Fox 23 news for a split second which only added to Maddie's joy in the event.
