Memorial Day

I have been remiss in writing the last couple of weeks. Maddie and I are in the final push to finish up first grade! The Romans are going by rather quickly I have to admit! However we are starting with them next year so I don't feel too badly about it. We watched the Scotia Memorial Day Parade pass by our house last Wednesday. Maddie loved every minute especially when the Merritt girls passed by!

Then on Sunday we had a Say good-bye to first grade and hello to summer party! This included make your own pizza in our new to us pizza oven. We had a ton of fun and Maddie had a great time showing off all she has learned. I made a poster of what we did for first grade and what was to come in second and have to admit even I was surprised at the amount we covered! I was impressed with Maddie because she was able to list off the major places we covered in our history from Nomads through to the Greeks and Romans. I know she is going to love all the topics next year not only in History but also in Science. We are studying Medieval times to the early Renaissance in History. Science is Earth Science for 1/2 the year and Astronomy for the other half. Its going to be fun!!!

Pizza making!

The sign of a good party in our house? A hot, tired and happy kid!!
